Check out the latest issue of Stanford Social Innovation Review (Summer 2010) where David Lehr and Jason Fairbourne (both mentioned above) and me (Lisa Jones Christensen) wrote an article on microfranchising and some of its issues. It is called "A Good Business for Poor People" (not our original title) and it may be of help to some interested in the latest field updates. Feel free to contact us if you have any comments.

Good evening,
My name is Ann Marie and I work at the NGO Fondo para la Acción ambiental y la Niñez (Fund for environmental and childhood action) in Bogotá, Colombia, in supporting our Executive Secretary in seeking new alliances with the private sector.

I have been reading about you alliance (Bravo bravo!), though i have a couple questions:
What 3 projects are to be introduced in 2010 to train the entrepreneurs in Curitiba?
Will these entrepreneurs begin their training with social enterprise and then, once they have enough skills, they will be given a micro franchise?
Are the any environmental related microfranchises (I saw the recycling Cooperative from Aliança)?

Thank you so very much for your time, dedication and passion to helping those with fewer opportunities.

Sincerely,
Ann Marie Steffa
