Freedom from Hunger is a US-based NGO that seeks to alleviate hunger and poverty around the world by promoting sustainable self-help solutions in local communities. Cooperating with local partners, it offers a variety of solutions ranging from micro-financed loans to health and nutrition education programs to improve the quality of life in the poorest regions of the world. It successfully implemented a microfinance and training program in Ghana that empowers rural women to produce insecticide-treated nets to fight against malaria and to earn a source of income. Free from Hunger has reached seventeen countries around the world and its microfinance programs service approximately two million families worldwide.
